You may ensure the reason behind the MobileMe sync problems with the help of following ways: -

If you are trying to sync contacts, view your data on MobileMe contacts and if the data does not appear to be correct there then the issue is not with your device.

Check all the updates and make sure your device is updated.

Check the Internet connections.

Look whether sync had not already occurred. If a sync is already occurring wait for the sync to complete and then see for your updated data.

Make sure that you are looking for your full set of contacts. While configuring MobileMe account in iOS 3.1 or later, you get tow choices of Merge and Don't Merge. If you choose for Don't Merge than your MobileMe data are kept separately and you can easily verify whether you are looking at your MobileMe data or not.

Check for MobileMe Mail on your device. And if you have received an alert message then you may not have configured correctly, and verify the correct configuration of your MobileMe account: -

On the home screen, go to tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap Fetch New Data, and make sure Push is turned On. Tap Mail... to go back one screen.
Tap your MobileMe account.
Tap Account Info and check the Address field.

Restart your device.

Look if the problem is fixed or wait for an hour and try again, sometimes apple temporarily disables an account form syncing with MobileMe if an account takes longer time to sync then the normal.

You can also try to delete and re-add your MobileMe account and look whether the sync issue is solved or not.
